Million Dollar Quartet - National Tour

A thrilling new musical that brings the story of four rock 'n' roll icons to life.

Beer Here! Indiana Brewery Dedicates Lager to Million Dollar Quartet

Few things go better with classic rock ‘n’ roll than a good beer. The folks at Sun King Brewery know this all too well, so to commemorate the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet’s engagement in Indianapolis, they’ve created a draught in honor of the tuner. The Million Dollar Brewski will make its debut on December 8 at the Rathskeller (401 East Michigan St.) in advance of the musical’s engagement at the Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre on December 13, where the show will run through December 18.

The Million Dollar Brewski is described as a Vienna lager created to reflect a similar brew that Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins may have drank during the period Million Dollar Quartet takes place. Sun King’s head brewer Dave Colt selected the Vienna lager because it was a private label beer sold by Katz Drug Store—a location of one of Presley’s first concerts. The lager is described as a lighter version of the Oktoberfest brew.

Million Dollar Quartet is a musical inspired by the momentous jam session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the only time in their careers. The show features the classic hits “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Walk the Line” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

The musical stars Cody Slaughter as Elvis Presley, Derek Keeling as Johnny Cash, Martin Kaye as Jerry Lee Lewis and Lee Ferris as Carl Perkins. The production is directed by Eric Schaeffer.
